Your photographs
stay yours.
MPViewer is built as a local Mac application. Your photo and video browsing workflow does not depend on an MPViewer account or cloud library.

Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the MPViewer macOS application and the mpviewer.com website. MPViewer is developed by Mladen Popović. It explains what the app processes locally, the limited circumstances in which a network service is contacted, and how you control or delete related data.
Data collected by the developer
MPViewer does not create user accounts and does not send photographs, videos, thumbnails, metadata, usage analytics, diagnostics or advertising identifiers to the developer. The app contains no advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking or profiling SDKs. The developer does not sell personal information.
Local processing and storage
Photos, videos, metadata and optional photo analysis are processed on your Mac. MPViewer may keep settings, security-scoped folder bookmarks, catalog information, thumbnails, map tiles, editing sidecars, tour projects and other working files locally so requested features work. Original media, exported files, sidecars and recorded audio remain in locations you choose; they are not stored on an MPViewer server.
File and microphone access
MPViewer accesses only files and folders you select through macOS. Features such as export, rename, move, crop, sidecar editing, printing or opening an external editor can read, write or pass a selected file to another application only when you request the action. Microphone access is requested only when you start recording a photo audio note or tour narration. Recordings are saved locally, but may become part of an exported or published tour if you later choose to include and publish them.
Limited network features
Core photo and video browsing does not require an internet connection. The following features contact a service for the function you request or enable:
- Maps and place names. Opening a map or requesting reverse geocoding may send relevant photo coordinates to Apple MapKit or Apple geocoding services. Downloading offline map tiles sends the requested tile coordinates to OpenStreetMap's tile service; as with any web request, the service also receives ordinary connection data such as an IP address and user agent.
- App Store update checks and tips. MPViewer may check Apple's App Store lookup service for an available version. Optional tips are processed by Apple through StoreKit. MPViewer's developer does not receive your payment credentials.
- Publish to your server. If you explicitly publish a virtual tour through FTP, SFTP or S3-compatible hosting, MPViewer sends the tour files you selected—including any included images, video, audio, floor plans, detail images and project content—to the server and account you configure. Server connection profiles and credentials are stored locally on your Mac. The developer neither receives nor controls those files, credentials or destination servers.
Apple, OpenStreetMap and any hosting provider you choose process requests under their own privacy terms. MPViewer does not share data with advertisers, data brokers or analytics providers.
Retention, deletion and permission controls
Because the developer does not collect or hold app user data on an MPViewer server, there is no developer-held user account or cloud record to delete. Local settings and caches remain on your Mac until you clear them in MPViewer where a control is provided, remove saved server profiles, or remove the app and its local application data. Files created outside the app container—such as exports, sidecars, recordings and published tours—remain where you saved or uploaded them and must be deleted there by you.
You can revoke file/folder or microphone permission at any time in macOS System Settings under Privacy & Security. Doing so may disable the related feature. You can delete an individual publishing profile in Tour Publisher, clear downloaded offline map data from the map interface, and remove published files through your chosen hosting provider.
This website
mpviewer.com uses no advertising pixels, analytics scripts or user account system and does not set marketing cookies. Like ordinary web hosting infrastructure, the hosting provider may process technical request logs—such as IP address, browser user agent, requested URL and time—for delivery, reliability and security. The site does not use those logs to build advertising profiles.
External links
The website links to services including the Mac App Store, PayPal, LinkedIn and X. Opening an external link takes you to that provider, whose own privacy policy applies.
Changes to this policy
If MPViewer's data practices materially change, this page will be updated before the new practice is introduced and the effective date above will change.
